About CCW

We all face various problems in our lives. In each situation, people try to find the information they need, and they struggle to solve their problem by using the social and human resources available. In this regard, there should be no difference due to nationality or place of residence.

In reality, however, it is not easy for foreign nationals to overcome the obstacles arising from social and language barriers, to obtain the information they need. As a result, many of them are put in the situation that they cannot access assistance programs offered by the social welfare system, which should be available to them.

In addition to the disadvantage of the language barrier, women of foreign nationals, in particular, suffer from the cultural discrimination of being women, and thus, having to face highly complex and wide-ranging problems in their daily living.

To name a few, the problems that foreign women often encounter are spousal abuse (DV), constant discord in marriage, divorce and issues related to its implementation, issues related to the immigration law such as renewal/change of residential status, distressed economic state, child raising and education, child abuse, mental and physical health of the women and their families.

As it is quite difficult for foreign women to solve these problems only with their limited social resources, there is a great need within Japanese society for an organization that provides the service of multi-lingual consultation, providing adequate information and social resources in order to assist them in solving their problems.
